Dodgers' Kershaw denies collector Zack Hample's request on Father's Day

Clayton Kershaw doesn't have time for ballhawks, especially when it comes to 39-year-old Zack Hample who has collected a bajillion (approximation) baseballs over his lifetime attending games.

On Sunday, Hample approached Kershaw for one of the commemorative Father's Day balls.

Today I asked Clayton Kershaw if I could have a baseball. He said, "No, you got 7,000 of 'em." #rejected— Zack Hample (@zack_hample) June 18, 2017

Swing and a miss.

The Dodgers ace was aware of Hample and his growing collection, it seems. Hample then tried a different tactic, though it yielded the same result. was a blue Father's Day ball. I said, "It would mean so much to me," and Kershaw was like, "No, it wouldn't." <sigh> Still love him.— Zack Hample (@zack_hample) June 18, 2017

No hard feelings, though it doesn't appear like he went home empty-handed:
